Newberry County Councilwoman Jackie Holmes

American Business Women’s Association (ABWA), Women Connecting Women Chapter of Newberry County salutes member, Honorable Jackie Holmes. ABWA’s mission is to provide leadership, education, networking opportunities and recognition to members on a local and national level.

Councilwoman Holmes is the first African American woman elected to Newberry City Council District 5. Since her induction, she has completed the Municipal Elected Officials Institute of Government. Other recent accomplishments include completing The Rotary Leadership Institute Virtual Facilitator Training Certification Program. Councilwoman Holmes is a veteran, having served our country as a member of the United States Army. She inhabits a tremendous love for God, family, her community, and her ABWA sisterhood across the nation. This phenomenal woman is an educator, mentor, and asset to the Women Connecting Women business league of Newberry County.

Membership in ABWA’s Women Connecting Women Chapter is open to business owners, working women, college students, and semi- retired professionals who seek continued learning opportunities and networking. The organization host ‘3rd Thursdays’ Professional Development sessions and networking, which are open to the public. “Communication: Giving and Receiving Feedback” is the upcoming topic with featured speaker, Valerie Talton, CEO and Founder of Accelerate Thru Education from Chicago Illinois.
