In light of the ongoing impact COVID-19 continues to have on the City of Columbia, the Columbia Economic Development Department is launching our new website in order to help provide more information to local businesses being impacted by the crisis.
While mandatory remote work, quarantine, travel restrictions and social distancing requirements play a crucial role in mitigating the coronavirus spread, it also comes at a heavy price to all of our community businesses, both large and small.
The Columbia Economic Development Department has been working with other City departments, government agencies, and business associations to gather information relevant to businesses and their employees. Updates on local policies such as meter bagging for restaurants and curfew can be found here, alongside relevant information from other governmental agencies such as SBA Disaster Relief and SC DEW Employment Assistance.
We have also been working hand-in-hand with our local business associations to develop a comprehensive listing of restaurants, retailers, and other services that continue to operate in limited capacity, and will continue to update that list throughout the week. We encourage City of Columbia businesses interested in being added to that list to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We would like to encourage our local businesses and citizens to visit our new site at www.choosecolumbiasc.com and click on the COVID-19 Resource banner for more information.
