Benedict College Professor Charles David Brooks III is taking a Sankofa Journey to Africa. He will tour the West African countries of Ghana, Benin and Togo.
Brooks interest in this Tour is to continue to study “the returning back of African countries to their traditional roots.” This requires the dropping of the colonial legacy to build Europe while many Africans areas are living in objective poverty with their entire existence is dominated.
“The African Union should rise and liberate the African from France and western imperialism,” according to African Leadership.
“As this is the 2019 Year of Return Conference/ Pilgrimage to Ghana, we will pay close attention as to what that mean between 1619 – 2019,” Brooks said.
Brooks leaves for the Sankofa Journey on May 29th and will return on June 15th. He expects to return to Benedict College, where he is Director of Theatre and Assistant Professor of Theatre, to share a deeper knowledge of the roots of Thoughts, Character, and Spiritual Awareness.
