Miss Allen University, Denyshia Jane Daniel

Allen University will crown Demyshia Janae Daniel as Miss Allen University for the 2019-2020 school year during coronation on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. in the John Hurst Adams Gymnatorium.

A Dean’s List recipient since her freshman year, Daniel is excited to represent the institution she loves. “I chose to run for Miss Allen University because I believe in the mission and values of the institution,” Daniel said.

Daniel remembers when she first stepped foot on Allen University’s campus and how the Miss Allen University at that time made her feel.

“I remember being a freshman and looking up to Miss Allen University. I remember how she stood up for the betterment of the students at the institution. Since then, I knew this was something I wanted to do as well. An HBCU queen has historic meaning, and being a part of the Miss Allen University linage of queens means a lot to me.”

A senior business management major from Greenwood, S.C., Daniel is heavily involved in campus life. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and Phi Beta Lambda Fraternity, Inc. She is also involved in other activities including serving as a political intern for the Richland County Democratic Party and as a mentor to female students on campus.

Daniel invites everyone to join her at coronation as she accomplishes a monumental dream of hers.

“Being Miss Allen has been a great experience and opportunity for me,” Daniel said. “I am honored and humbled to serve as the 2019-2020 Miss Allen University. I am ecstatic and can’t put into words the tremendous amount of love I have for my institution that continues to ensure that I and other students achieve ‘All That Can Be Imagined.’”

The theme for coronation is “The Egyptian Goddess Affair.” This event is free and open to the public.
