Lathran J. Woodard, CEO of the SC Primary Health Care Association

The year 2019 has proven to be a very exciting year for the South Carolina Primary Health Care Association (SCPHCA). Not only is the organization represented more prominently on the health care circuit by having its CEO seated as the Board Chair of a national health care organization, but it will celebrate its 40th year in business with an Anniversary Gala on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center located at 1101 Lincoln Street, Columbia, SC 29201.

Held in conjunction with the Annual Conference, the Gala will commence with a cocktail reception at 6:00 pm followed by dinner/program at 7:00 pm. Musical entertainment following the program will be provided by Ste and the Ear Candy Band while reception and dinner music will be provided by Mr. David Glymph.

“Collectively, South Carolina health centers have greatly shortened the disparity between health care supply and demand in our state. At the birth of the SCPHCA, there were only six health centers. Today, there are 23 health centers which provide services to more than 409,000 unique patients who require a diverse array of services. Much work has been done over the past 40 years to enhance access, but there is much more work to do over the next 40 years and beyond,” said Lathran J. Woodard, CEO of the SCPHCA, and Board Chair of the National Association of Community Health Centers, Inc. (NACHC).

Supporters for the event include: Sapphire Sponsors: Blue Cross Blue Shield of SC and Select Health of SC, Garnet Sponsors: Absolute Total Care, Henry Schein, and LabCorp; Opal Sponsors: Chronic Care Staffing, Genesis Health Care, Inc. and Fetter Health Care Network, Inc.; Friends of the SCPHCA Sponsors: Community Health Worker Institute/PASOs (Arnold School of Public Health), SC Thrive, United Healthcare and Community Integrated Management Services, LLC; and a host of table sponsors, individual ticket purchasers and donors.
