Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Upsilon Omega Omega Chapter has been serving the communities of Irmo, SC, Lexington County, and the Midlands for over 23 years.

As part of their scholarship initiative, Upsilon Omega Omega Chapter awarded $13,500 to fifteen high school graduating seniors. The scholarships will contribute to the each student’s college education this coming fall 2021. Scholarship selection is based on academic achievement and character. The chapter is elated to present each student with a scholarship that supports the foundation of their future.

Abby Pearce is a member of the National Honor Society, a Palmetto Girls State Delegate, and Varsity Track Captain. Abby is a graduate of Lexington High School, and plans to attend Clemson University Honors College where she will major in Nursing.

Porsha Nesbitt is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Body Historian, and a member of White Knoll Dance Company. Porsha is a graduate of White Knoll High School, and plans to attend Winthrop University where she will major in Psychology with a minor in African American Studies.

Amber Burton is a member of the National Honor Society of High School Scholars, a Palmetto Girls State Delegate, and top ranked Basketball Player and All American. Amber is a graduate of Dreher High School, and plans to attend North Carolina A&T State University where she will major in Political Science.

Meaghan Waddell is a member of the National Honor Society, a Distinguished Honor Graduate, and Vice President of the Irmo Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America. Meaghan is a graduate of Irmo High School, and plans to attend Columbia College where she will major in Business Administration with a minor in Communications.

Kyndall Ragins is an AP Scholar, member of All Region Tennis team, and Women’s Tennis Team Captain. Kyndall is a graduate of Westwood High School, and plans to attend Johnson C. Smith University where she will major in Criminology with a minor in Pre-Law.

Sierra Sands is a member of the National Honor Society and received the Columbia Urban League Young Gifted Award. Sierra is a graduate of Blythewood High School, and plans to attend Spelman College where she will major in Information Systems and International Studies.

Isha Bojang is the chapter National Beta Club President, Student Body President, and graduated with Distinction Honors. Isha is a graduate of Airport High School, and plans to attend College of Charleston where she will major in Biology.

Jazlyn Wilson is a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, and received the Columbia Urban League Youth Leadership Award. Jazlyn is a graduate of Westwood High School, and plans to attend Winthrop University where she will major in Psychology.
