"Faith vs Dorian"

On Sunday, November 17, 2019, at 3 p.m., Haskell Heights First Baptist Church (1231 Blue Ridge Terrace, Columbia) and The Columbia Community Faith Coalition will sponsor "Faith vs. Dorian." This event will be a benefit concert in which artists (musicians, spoken word artists, praise dancers, etc.) will donate their talents towards this humanitarian effort. The concert will be free, but a free-will offering will be collected with all the proceeds going to the American Red Cross for the aid of Hurricane Dorian victims.

Reverend Glenn Wigfall, pictured on the left, is Pastor of Haskell Heights First Baptist Church, and spokesman for the project. According to Pastor Wigfall, "We're engaging in this project because it's our Christian duty to feed, clothe, and give comfort to those in distress. It's our job not just to preach the gospel of good news, but we must be the good news."

The people of the Grand Bahama Islands have been extremely ravaged by Hurricane Dorian. According to the latest update from Prime Minister Hubert Minnis, 60 persons are confirmed dead, 13,000 homes destroyed, and 600 persons missing.

If your church/house of faith wants to join this effort, or for questions, call (803) 463-7047.
