The state of South Carolina is currently looking at a total of 1,083 positive coronavirus cases and 22 unfortunate deaths of those individuals with the COVID-19 infection. To combat this virus, a number of hospitals throughout the state are creating drive-thru specimen collection sites. Prior to, many healthcare providers have encouraged individuals to utilize the free telehealth, or virtual, screening option. This option is still encouraged, along with the newly presented drive-thru option that grants the opportunity for patients to drive up and have a sample collected for coronavirus testing.
Drive-Thru Site Expectations
• Patients must schedule an appointment to be tested.
• Patients must remain in their fully covered vehicles as the sample is collected.
• Patients should bring health insurance card to appointment to cover cost(s), if any.
• Patients should confirm with medical personnel for time frame of results.
