Scholars Academy Magnet for Business and Law senior Grace Miller, was named a finalist in the University of South Carolina Honors College High School Writing Contest. In 750 words or fewer, she answered the question:

“How should we improve the state of South Carolina?”

Her submission was evaluated based on originality and quality of writing. The second round of the writing competition will be held on the University of South Carolina campus and require Miller to write a 40-minute impromptu essay. First, second, and third place winners will receive cash prizes and will have their entries published in a young writers’ anthology published by the South Carolina Honors College.
