In keeping with tradition, members of the National Council of Negro Women (Columbia Section) went to SisterCare on March 24, 2021 to make a donation to celebrate Dr. Dorothy Height's birthday. The members of the NCNW Columbia Section, along with Davin Moses of Ridgeview High School, delivered several boxes of supplies that included hygiene items, toiletries, paper products, non-perishable food, cleaning supplies, clothes, and over $300 in gift cards.
The National Council of Negro Women, Inc. was founded in 1935, by Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, an influential educator and activist. Dr. Dorothy Height served as the NCNW's 4th President from 1957-1997. NCNW's mission is to lead, empower and advocate for women of African descent, their families and communities.
