In Orangeburg, there was a drive by celebration recognizing a living legend. December 17 was declared by the City of Orangeburg to be Gloria Rickenbacker Hutto Day in the City of Orangeburg, SC.
Miss Rickenbacker Hutto is the Founder and President of Rickenbacker Xcel Foundation given 100% of her time and energy and dedication to the foundation she started 23 years. This lady even added an additional space onto her home so decorations could be created for the gala. Ms. Rickenbacker Hutto is a legacy that cannot be matched. She’s made her footprint in time when others wouldn’t. She did when others didn’t. With what she did, she did it from her heart. She will never give up raising thousands of dollars for Alzheimer’s Research.
Due to the infectious disease COVID-19, the Gala 24th Annual was canceled. But we still celebrated 24 Years of Excellence with treat bags full of goodies. A line of cars wrapped around the corner at the Rickenbacker Hutto home with beautiful black, pink, and gold decorations and her suit and sash all the same colors. The sash said December 17 Gloria Rickenbacker Hutto Day. She is not a queen for a day, but she’s a queen for a lifetime. This event had over 75 participated and cards and gifts are still coming in from the community.
Thanks to the City of Orangeburg, family and friends for your participation and your support for 24 years.
