Kamala Harris

The Honorable Kamala Devi Harris, Senator from California and Presidential Candidate, will be the featured speaker at the SC NAACP’s 2019 Freedom Fund Celebration. The event will be held at Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 6 p.m. at Brookland Baptist Banquet & Conference Center, located at 1066 Sunset Boulevard in West Columbia, SC.

We invite you to join us for the 2019 Freedom Fund Celebration and the South Carolina State Conference, NAACP in honor of our longstanding advocacy for civil rights. The annual gala commemorates the contributions of those connected with the first successful legal challenge to “separate but equal” statutes in America, Briggs vs. Elliott. It promises to be a spectacular evening that offers entertainment, information and inspiration. The Freedom Fund Campaign is our public appeal for individual and institutional investment to ensure we remain an effective advocate for positive change and advancement to benefit all South Carolinians. As a State Conference, we seek to increase equity in employment, business opportunities, criminal justice and educational opportunities in our state. Within 80 years we have grown to over one hundred forty local units staffed by volunteer leaders and members who cherish our shared democratic values. They are the engine that keeps us on the cutting edge of change in our society.
