Congratulations to Marquis Huguenin and Darius Porter, the Midlands area recipients of the Wayne Clay Sumpter Memorial Scholarship, and to Breanna Dennison, the Georgetown County recipient.

Marquis is a graduate of Lower Richland High School, with acceptance to Wayne’s alma mater, Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, AL. He has been accepted to the Robert R. Taylor School of Architecture and Construction Science with the major in Architecture.

Darius Porter

Darius is also a graduate of Lower Richland High School, with acceptance to Morehouse College of Atlanta, GA. He will major in Cinema, Television, and Emerging Media Studies (CTEMS) with a minor in Religion.

Breanna Dennison

Breanna is a graduate of Georgetown High School, with acceptance to the University of South Carolina Aiken. She will major in Nursing.

The WCSMS is awarded each year to graduating African American high school seniors who resides in the Midlands area and Georgetown County.
