The Carolina Panorama Newspaper is saddened to learned that Mary Lee Hendrix passed away on Tuesday Morning, February 18, 2020.
Ms. Mary Lee made everyone she came in contact with feel special. It is often said by her sister Teresa that “Mary Lee has never met a stranger.”
Ms. Mary Lee was instrumental in getting community news disbursed. We like to think that the Carolina Panorama Newspaper was her favorite news outlet, but that would not be fair because she made sure that all the various outlets got the news to benefit the community – especially when it came to news about Benedict College, Fairfield County and the churches in the Blair, SC area.
She always made sure to keep the community updated with the happenings of her home church, Gethsemane Baptist Church.
Mary Lee Hendrix was a long-time Benedict faculty and staff member. She is best known for her work in the Benedict College Library. As a Benedict College alumnus, she was true to her Purple & Gold Tigers. She was the oldest of four sisters who also graduated from Benedict. Ms. Mary Lee Hendrix will always be remembered for her white rimmed eye glasses and her genuine, infectious wide smile.
Ms. Mary Lee will be sorely missed.
Glover Memorial Chapel in Winnsboro, SC will be in charge of the home going activities.
